First Earth Hour Online Supporter of the Day Announced!

    Hi Everybody!

The other day we announced we would be starting a daily award called the Earth Hour Online Supporter of the Day. You can read in the original post the thinking behind the award, and we had heaps of entries (many of whom will likely receive the award on another day) but today I’m writing to highlight our first winner.

    Drum roll!

The winner of the first Earth Hour Online Supporter of the Day Award is Ken Moffatt! Now, many of you might not know who Ken is, but at least 19,142 of you should. Ken started what is now the most popular Facebook Event for Earth Hour, with nearly 20,000 people signed up and far more than that awaiting reply.

Ken represents one of the most important aspects of Earth Hour – people making the commitment to spread the message for change and, as our slogan says, showing what can be done. To this end we’ve decided to make Ken’s group the Official Earth Hour Event on Facebook, because it is only with the support of all of you that this is even possible.

Entries for the next award can still be sent to Supporter@EarthHour.org and we’ll have another winner soon. Until then, follow the link to Ken’s Event and register to attend - the more the merrier!

    Talk soon,

    Lachlan Hibbert-Wells

    .

PS: You can show your support in a number of ways, from Tweeting about Earth Hour and updating your Facebook status, to adding a Twibbon to your profile pic. There are also plenty of things that you can add to your blog or site, from banners and buttons to supporter widgets and Virtual Lantern pages. Check out all of the ways you can show your support at Tools and Downloads and Spread the Word.
